Once again this year, within the Asinitas community theatre workshop, whose outcome staged at Teatro India on 10 and 11 July (“Abitare il ritorno”, Inhabiting the coming back), there are people who step onto a stage for the first time, and who for the first time this year have participated as spectators in a performance.

Indeed, a fortunate coincidence is that in May the Teatro India hosted La classe, a figure theatre show by Fabiana Iacozzilli, who also runs the Asinitas community theatre workshop.

In addition to participating in the cultural life of the city, creating a cultural community that shares and compares the experience of spectatorship, and discovering a code – the theatrical code – that is new to some, the performance was a precious moment of awareness, this time from an outside perspective, of how a spectator perceives bodies and objects that tell a story.

“Here I noticed that from outside it works in a way that I didn’t understand from inside,” says Jack Spittle, one of the workshop participants. Inhabiting theatres on stage, in the audience, looking at each other and being looked at, in order to build a critical gaze on others and make that same gaze come alive in our bodies.

Teatro di figura. Un punto di vista interno ed esterno 

Anche quest’anno all’interno del laboratorio di teatro comunitario di Asinitas, che ha portato il suo esito in scena al Teatro India il
10 e 11 luglio (Abitare il ritorno), ci sono persone che per la prima volta saliranno su un palcoscenico, e che per la prima volta quest’anno hanno partecipato da spettatori a uno spettacolo.
E c’è un fortunato cortocircuito; proprio il Teatro India ha ospitato a maggio La classe, spettacolo di teatro di figura di Fabiana Iacozzilli, conduttrice anche del laboratorio di teatro comunitario di Asinitas.

La visione dello spettacolo allora, oltre alla partecipazione alla vita culturale della città, alla creazione di una comunità culturale che condivide e si confronta su un’esperienza di spettatorialità, alla scoperta di un codice – quello teatrale – per alcuni nuovissimo, è stato il momento prezioso di una presa di coscienza, da fuori stavolta, di come uno spettatore percepisca corpi e oggetti che raccontano una storia.

“Qui ho notato che da fuori funziona in maniera che da dentro non capivo” dice Jack Spittle, uno dei partecipanti al laboratorio.
Abitare i teatri in scena, in sala, guardarsi ed essere guardati, per costruire uno sguardo critico sull’altro e fare in modo che quello stesso sguardo sia vivo nei nostri corpi.
